In the post-apocalyptic world of The Tyrfingr Chronicles, humanity was literally bombed back to the Stone Age by a cataclysm known only as ‘the Great Burning.’ Perhaps a millennium has passed since that event, though no one really knows for sure. Civilization has reasserted itself, and after a thousand-year dark age, is on the cusp of a new Renaissance. New nations and people groups have emerged: the barbaric Canadians; the infidel Orangians on their island nation west of the Central Highlands; the warlike Highlanders; the pastoral Nomes; and the near mythical Fair Folk. Then there is the loose federation of city-states known collectively as the United States - a society founded on what little tribal memory remains of the once great nation. The President, the figurehead political leader of the United States, and the Adam, the head of the priestly caste of the Sons of Liberty, vie for supreme power and threaten to plunge the federation into bloody civil war.
