As with any good movie website, we here at TrailerSpy are big fans of The Academy Awards. And even though the fate of the actual ceremony is a bit uncertain at the moment, that shouldn’t detract from the significance of the Oscar awards themselves. Especially the Oscar for Best Picture.
Therefore, for the second straight year, we thought we’d post the trailers for the five films nominated for Best Picture and ask you a simple question: which one do you think is the best?
Granted, having the best trailer isn’t exactly indicative of which movie will win the actual award; however, since trailers are our business, that’s what we’re choosing to focus on. Plus, it’s a fun way to jump-start the Oscar hype that is sure to follow in the coming weeks.
So here they are…
The Atonement Trailer
The Juno Trailer
The Michael Clayton Trailer
The No Country for Old Men Trailer
The There Will Be Blood Trailer
Tell us which one you think is the best here.

In order:
No Country for Old Men
Juno
There Will Be Blood
Michael Clayton
Atonement
No Country for sure. Then Blood. Then Juno, Atonement, Clayton.
There Will Be Blood is the best trailer
The There Will Be Blood trailer is not only the best trailer of this bunch, but hands down the best trailer of the year.
There will be blood is the best trailer.
There Will Be blood, Daniel Day-Lewis is awesome
I like “No Country”, but I liked “There Will Be Blood” enough to give the movie a SEE IT based on the teaser alone. Michael Clayton is probably the worst of the bunch. I still can’t tell what that movie is about.
There Will Be Blood is the best trailer and best movie, no question.
“There Will Be Blood” is the best trailer and the best film nominated this year.
There will be blood is the best. The juno trailer is the only one that makes me not want to see the movie.
Of these No Country, but then again, I don’t believe this was teh best trailer for There Will be Blood put out… that teaser was an absolute doozy, but there were others that I remember cutting to the core more than the one presented here.
There Will Be Blood
There Will Be Blood is by far the best trailer. It’s noy my favorite movie of the five, but it’s by far the best trailer, with Juno coming in at a close second. (Not for originality, but for the fact that it puts asses in seats, unquestionably.)
No Country for Old Men.
I vote “Juno”. The trailer is funny, hopeful, wry, beautiful (and so is Ellen Page) without giving too much away. And “All the Young Dudes” playing in the background is just pure perfection. On the flip side “No Country for Old Man” portrays the darkest vilest depths of the soul of the damned– yuck– there’s enough of that out there in reality. Who wants to go see it at the cinema. Having seen its trailer I say, “Not me!”
THERE WILL BE BLOOD. The Atonement trailer is also fabulous, but Juno is not. In addition, I have to say that what’s shocking and pretty rude about the Atonement trailer is that at the end, it lists ONLY keira knightley and james mcavoy… it doesnt even CREDIT saoirse ronan, who got nominated for an OSCAR!!!
There will be blood is the best trailer. And maybe the best movie too but that didnt influence my opinion.
Surprisingly, I find the “Michael Clayton” trailer best for its ability to stem wind from the half-hearted to heart pounding in ninety seconds while keeping a presumed narrative in view. It eschews the mystery of the extraneous and exotic while all hell breaks loose in otherwise commonplace and civilized surroundings. Offers a quick and relentless build.
“Juno” is a close second with hand-picked, one-line wit and whimsy and the touchstone of bedrock music.
There Will Be Blood is the best of the bunch. I couldn’t stop thinking about it after I saw it the first time and it really makes you want to see the film. No Country comes in a close second though.
They all look so good based on the trailers. I would have to go with No Country for Old Men just because the Cohen Brothers are great.
None of the trailers are quite as compelling or haunting as the one for THERE WILL BE BLOOD. Jonny Greenwood’s tense and menacing score accents some pf the most powerful highlights from the film, which is also the best film of 2007.
I thought Atonement had the best one — the trailer’s quite chilling. Next, There Will Be Blood, then No Country for Old Men, then Juno, then Michael Clayton.
Well I haven’t seen any of the movies yet so my judgement will be based only on the trailers which is the idea, right? And the best should be “There will be blood”. At first I thought that “No country for old men” is good too (and indeed it is) but Day-Lewis’ villian was the more fascinating one.
I just saw No country for old men. While my wife was a little miffed at the end, I thought it was fitting with the style of film. Kudos to Atonement and it’s rising star McAvoy. Looking forward to Wanted which will be released shortly.
